We all know that millennials  are always keeping up with the latest trends and there is such a wide array of trends going on at all times.  That being said it is tough for marketers to really target this group because we are always engaging with the brands we love, making us have a sharper eye and higher expectations.  I read an article sharing 4 tips to help market to this super star group!

1.Brands Must Deliver Authenticity

Its easy for millennials to spot a phony advertisement or brand. We demand authenticity because we care about social responsibility. The article says it is important for brands to get into contact with millenials and engage with them to help better understand their motives.


2.Your Brand Must Look The Part

The article touches on how graphic design can really help connect with this demographic. The want brands to show their fun side because they want to be able to relate and not take things so seriously.  Get into cool videos and witty sayings, differentiate your brand from your competitor!


3.Marketing Can't Be Too Aggressive

Every good designers knows the acronym KISS:Keep it Simple Stupid. Do not try so hard, be natural, this will go back to point number 2 of being authentic. Millenials want to trust the brands they love, so aggressive tactics like ads that block the whole screen  will not be a good way to capture your audience. In fact, it might do the opposite!


4.Engage Through Genuine, value-adding content

Providing valuable content is what millennials search for.  They want to see things that are different and new. Do not be afraid to show your brand's personality be YOURSELF!

  1. I agree with you. One place where brands really mess up is coming across as being inauthentic when it comes to promoting social causes. So many times the company comes across as caring more about the sales the cause generates than the cause itself.
